Welcome to Canada House West! You may notice there are more pictures here of the West side than there are of the East. This may be in part because I work on the West side, and I always notice how pretty it is over here. :o) These pictures were taken on 3/30/04 and posted to the site on 4/1/04.
We had the deck at the south end of the pool re-done, and replaced the tiki thing with this lovely awning. The color of this awning was chosen to match the awning that was already on the third floor in the area that is now our sun-deck.
This picture was taken from the pool area, looking up at the building that faces East. If I had moved the camera just to the right, you could have seen my office door, but instead you get to see the sun deck we've set up so folks can catch some rays when the sun's on the West side of the building. (Keep clicking to see pictures of the deck from the deck - and pictures of the pool from the deck!)
This is the Jacuzzi on the West side. As you can see, we got new tables & umbrellas over here, as well.
This was taken from the same angle as the previous pic, but closer to the pool. Look at all those lounge chairs! Makes you want to grab your swimsuit, doesn't it??
This is a little sitting area we have right next to the Jacuzzi. Being in the yard area in the West side is like being in a tropical forest. When I look at old pictures of the spindly trees that have grown up so lush & beautiful, I just can't believe how much it's changed here -- for the better!
This is another view of the yard on the West side - this time from the third floor. Actually this was taken from right outside my office door - you can see why I don't mind coming to work!
This picture of the pool was taken from the third floor. We didn't have to re-do the marcite in this pool, but we did have it pressure-cleaned and had new tile put in. Isn't it pretty?
Another picture of the pool, this one from the second floor. Don't you wish you were here now?
This is the new sundeck we created from the "wasted space" on the third floor and the generous purchase of a bunch of new lounges by our Developer. When the sun starts to disappear behind the building in the afternoons, people start gravitating toward this area, where they can keep working on those tans for a few more hours before sunset. When you're here, if you come to use the sun-deck, stop by my office and say hello!
This was taken from the East parking lot. If you go back to the old pictures I had posted previously, you'll really see what I mean about the lush trees that used to be so spindly. Sadly, this is the last view you'll have of Canada House West as you leave the front desk after checking out -- at least until you come back next year!
